Experts emphasized that women with PCOS have more bisphenol A, or BPA, in their bodies. BPA is a chemical used to harden plastics. Scientists the world over have observed this link. In almost every study, reproductive issues and cancers were linked to BPA and other endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

Through community debate, Urugoli media held in Muhanga district, Shyogwe sector, through the program for promoting women inputs to prevent plastic effect on climate change. Women are determined to deal with this problem by protecting the environment and protecting it from harmful substances such as plastic.

It is after the residents of the Shyogwe sector have understood the advantages and disadvantages of plastic materials, since plastic is bad when it is used incorrectly or when it is old because it has a negative effect on a person such as a pathogen and most people find it after using a plastic tool. combustibles are also mostly polluting the air.

Kubwimana Providence, one of the residents of this sector, said that they did not know the effects of plastic materials, but after learning about it, they went to take care of it and teach others who cooperated with Urugoli media. "We didn't know that plastic materials are harmful because we used to burn them or throw them in the ground, but we found out that they cause us diseases and pollute the air, what we are going to do is teach others about how to avoid it early" This was confirmed by her neighbor Uwimana Donatha, who said " As women, we have decided that plastic items including cups, plates, bottles, etc. will not be burned or thrown where we see them, but we will keep them in designated places to prevent environmental damage, especially air pollution.

Mr. Emmanuel Bavugamenshi, the Socio-economic development officer of Mubuga cell in the Shyogwe sector, said: "Plastic tools are not good because when you are farming and you find plastic in the soil, you get different soil from the one that does not contain plastic. so we thank Urugoli media for choosing our cell” and he continued that "the next plan is that we are going to encourage the people to put it into practice, we avoid burning bags and plastic bottles because they harm people's lives and pollute our air."

Dianne Mushimiyimana is the Managing Director of Urugoli media one of the partners of the government in fighting climate and environmental pollution mainly through women and girls, she said that women have a very important role in preventing environmental pollution, especially the air, she said that "women are important in protecting the environment, but there are measures taken by various ministries, including the ministry of trade and industry and the ministry of The environment encourages the Rwandan industries that make plastic utensils to stop using them and make non-polluting materials that can cause cancer because if you use plastic utensils, some of them will go to your body and cause you to get sick”

Essential to limiting global warming to 1.5°C is the leadership and participation of women. Making up 51% of the Earth’s population, women and girls in every society are responding more effectively in times of crisis and actively working towards the creation of a more just and sustainable world. Yet, large structural gaps in inequality remain. By acknowledging the benefits women bring to the table, we can start to close these gaps and accelerate action to solve the climate crisis.

Those people say this Rwanda is among the countries that aim to develop an economy that damages the environment, where at least 50.9% of its are women and they play a major role in protecting environment, which is considered to be a sector that contributes significantly to the preservation of the environment

While it is an important material for our economy, providing multiple benefits to modern day living, plastic can take thousands of years to biodegrade. It takes up valuable space in landfill sites and is polluting the natural environment, having a significant impact on our oceans.
