Nyamagabe: 110 year old widow of the Genocide against the Tutsi welcomed President Kagame

President Kagame visited the home of 110-year-old, Rachel Nyiramandwa, a beneficiary of socio-economic initiatives, including a renovated home and the Girinka program through which she now has cows that allow her to supply milk to her neighborhood.

110-year-old Nyiramandwa Rachel welcomed President Kagame to her home in Nyamagabe District, in the Southern Province Rwanda. The Head of State is on a four-day visit to #KwegeraAbaturage in the Southern and Western Provinces.

The old woman had the privilege of being visited 3 times by the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame. She was visited again by the Head of State, they had a friendly conversation, where she was prepared with pleasure to welcome him.

Nyiramandwa Rachel is a widow of the Genocide against the Tutsi in 1994. Her characteristic is that she loves the President of the country very much.

Journalists have been photographing her and showing the lady with President Paul Kagame, while listening her through insightful conversations with smile to him, which meant by her body language.

Mrs. Nyiramandwa Rachel, who is now 110 years old, once met with His Excellency the President of the Republic in 2010 and met him again in 2017.

She is currently meeting him again on August 26, 2022, before meeting the people of Nyamagabe. during the visit of the days he works in the Southern and Western Provinces.

President Paul Kagame last visited Mrs. Nyiramandwa on February 26, 2019, when she was 109 years old, he visited her after his work visit to the area, and gave her 2 cows, because one of the two that had been given in the Girinka program had died, the remaining one was could not give him the right amount.

President Paul Kagame doesn't ignore anyone, because it is children and old people who hear him and listen to him, and he first told them to stop playing music, so that he could talk to them, when the year is about to end, he invites children to Urugwiro, to listen to them. talk, that is why the lady was given the opportunity to talk with the Head of the Nation.

President Paul Kagame has on different occasions visited the elderly and asked to fulfil their needs, particular on health, socio-economic development, etc. which he did several times.

As part of the Girinka Munyarwanda program, on April 6, 2018, elderly survivors of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Ngoma District, Rukumberi Sector, received supports.

They were also given 10 cows to support them and hold them on their backs, so that they would always have milk in their daily life. Currently are thankful, "Our lives are going to change." Said by those beneficiaries.

An elderly Mukarinda from Ruhango District was given a cow called "Ineza", because when the Interahamwe were killing the Tutsis in the Kinazi commune, he saw a 15-year-old child who left the baby in a bad condition. one year, she took him from the breast and nursed the baby.

Mukarinda says that when the Inkotanyi arrived in Kinazi, she told herself that she had the baby with her aunt, then they took the aunt away and she was left to the nurse with the baby.

Mrs. Nyiramandwa Rachel with m eaningful smile, had shared frutful conversations and welcomed the President of the Republic of Rwanda.
