AYOSA reaches out over 260 internally displaced of school children by offering basic computer training

Following the outbreak of the Anglophone crisis in Cameroon that has escalated since 2016, over 500, 000 person have flee their homes and are now living as internally displaced persons or refugees. This has also resulted in the complete shutdown of schools in must part of the North West region of the country, Taking the case of Bui Division for Example, the primary and secondary school registered a 0001% resumption as of the 2018/2019 academic year, with more than 80,00 children out of school.

AYOSA offered basic computer training
to 50 teen.

The effects of these are devastating and traumatizing on the children especially on the girl children who have become like the prey before the predator, as many are subjected to Sexualexploitation,teenage prostitution, rampant rape, Some become victims of child

labor and others simply grow up to indulge in crimes (for boys) and community as a whole as they have become victims of gross human right abuses.

The resultant effects of this include but not limited to the High level of illiteracy and Increasing number of teenage mothers; Increasing rate of HIV/AIDS and related STDs due to prostitution,Falling standards of living;Rising poverty levels at the level of households, Rising insecurity in the society by Addressing the rate of illiteracy amongst the internally displaced and out of School Children in Shisong, Bui Division, North West Region, Cameroon.

Following the right of children to quality education and the importance of this tool on the growth of any society, the African Youths for Sustainable Agriculture is thus organizing a home schooling and basic computer program for internally displaced and out of child coupled with counselling, self-discovery and Vision Development programs.

They view Education and skills training as a key guarantor of human rights.

AYOSA's working hard to address illiteracy

Without the right to education there no real freedom which allows every person to be the protagonist of their

own destiny.

Thus providing educational skills is a step towardscontributing to the long term prevention of human abuses

and represent and investment in the course to achieve a just society in which human rights of all persons are valued and respected. We are thus targeting

100 children aged 5 – 10 and 500 between teenager between the ages of 10

and 20 for our home schooling, basic computer training, counseling,

and self-discovery and vision discovery programs.

More than150 teen for a trained on self-discovery and Vision Development.

The basic computer, self discovery and vision development project for international displace in the North West Regional ,this initiative is designed to contribute towards

ensuring an inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all (SDG 4), the initiative has as its backbone the drive towards ending high level of illiteracy, and human right abuses among teenagers with zero hunger inclusiveAt the heart of this project, we believe that equipping pupils with knowledge and required skills help curb down crime wave, transmissible disease infections and human right abuses among them.

African Youths for Sustainable Agriculture has reached out to more than 261 internallydisplaced and out of school children on self-discovery and vision.

Even though we considered so many option the need for the children to study basic computer and undertake self-discovery and vision development was

critical it helps them to really know who they are and how to overcome the

challenges that comes as a result of the growing conflict, more so basic computer knowledge can open them to more other opportunities.

Though we have successful implement and achieved some of the goals set for this project, there were still some setback such as; the intensification of the crisis especially in Bui division made it impossible for us to have classes on a regular base, limited funds for this project also disrupted its effectiveness.

As the African Youths for Sustainable Agriculture is working hard to address illiteracy, there is still a call for concern as the health situation, living condition and the nutritional need of most of this IDPs lives much to be desired, there is there for a call to handle the situation as many are scavenging and living other dreadful and inhuman conditions in the forest and bushes.

African Youth For Sustainable Agriculture (AYOSA) mission’s to fight poverty and ensure youths employment through sustainable agriculture, vision’s to be the key actor in community development and shaping the agricultural landscape in Africa.

AYOSA’s a social organization with focus on agricultural development, Eco Tourism (Green Tour), Youth’s entrepreneur in the agro-enterprise, as well as providing

sustainable pathway to youth employment in rural communities and committed to contributing toward poverty reduction in rural areas, Fighting poverty and nourishing humanity through Innovation, Persistent, partner and sustainability to build with tomorrow’s generation in mind activities. It’s located in Shisong Kumbo, North West Region Cameroon.
