KICUKIRO: under 18 who give birth in Covid 19 have completed their vocational training

Twenty-seven (27) girls, who became pregnant before age 18 during the Covid-19 pandemic, obtained their certificate this Monday, June 27, after 6 months of acquiring skills in beauty and hairdressing.

The girls, who live in Busanza Cell, Kanombe Sector, Kicukiro District, on the afternoon of June 27, 2022, were provided with tools to starve and process hair, which will help them to self-sustain and develop.

In their tearful testimonies, they say where they came from is great, they are now out of bad habits, they are saved and they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord of their lives, they say they will never return when they leave, because there is evil, they are now thankful, they look to their future change takes place in their lives after they have benefited from evangelism.

After being evangelized for behavior change by the Gospel Fellowship Church (CGFCR).

Nine of these 27 graduates have found employment where they completed their internship. Mukunduhirwe Aziza, one of the beneficiaries, says it is a blessing to have had this opportunity.

“I was preached the good news. Then I was trained in hairdressing. Now I have found a job in a hair salon. I meet my needs without asking for help. With a box of hair dryers and the manicure and pedicure equipment received, she can work on her own and take care of her baby.

"These girls are experts, 9 of them got a job right away, where Compassionate Diane was fired from her birthplace and she immediately got a job that paid more than 50,000, thank you to those who helped me achieve my dream".

Nyirandayambaje Francine trained as a tailor and pearl necklace maker. She completed her training with the first class in 2017. She testified that her life changed after she obtained salvation.

The training was of great importance after she got the assistance. She is now a seamstress and teaches others with the help of Ms. Chantal Nyirakinyana.

This benefactress says that some young mothers come with babies to learn a trade. “They were only two weeks old at the time of the pandemic. It was not easy for the young mothers, but they followed the courses to the end. It is a great achievement,” says Nyirakinyana.

This is the fourth promotion since the year 2017, when Ms. Chantal Nyirakinyana had the idea of helping people to know the good news of Jesus Christ.

During this time, she realized that there were prostitute ladies and other single people living in critical conditions as a result of the circumstances they went through. She decided to help them spiritually.

Then she gave them material support so that they could lead a normal life and take care of their children.

Nyirakinyana, in partnership with other Christians, has also initiated training for these young mothers so that they can find employment.

Chantal is happy that these young women are now in good health and thanks God for having helped them by the grace of God and that they have become Christians. They can work by themselves. They have a good life with their children compared to what they were before.

So far, more than 126 people have been trained; the previous three promotions have 99 people and the fourth promotion is made up of 27 people.

Mukarukundo Béatrice, 22, has a 2 year old son and a 2 month old cousin, Mukahigiro Dorcella, who, out of pity for her parents, did not abandon her child even though she had given birth, but she did receive another daughter, Diane, who had a baby at home.

The 19 year old, who has a 1 year old son and a 1 month old son, had been evicted by a neighbor, because he was born at home, and brought her home with two caregivers, two children, although he was unable to do so.

Mukahigiro Dorcella said ''Compassionate Diane was doing housework, her masters saw her mother and immediately kicked her out, and I took her away, because she had no place to live, and those who had her were sad, thinking that what I would eat she would eat too, raise my child and 'yours'.

The 18 year old Sophie, who gave birth to 17 year old Sophie, is also thankful for the Goddess Shalon, because it is very bad, she assures them that they will not return, thanks to Mrs. Chantal who helped them get out of bad habits with the help of God's Word.

They say, "Heaven is ours, no one should give it to us, we were not saved, we are now transformed."

Nyirakinyana Chantal is married to Rév. Pastor Rugazura Etienne, a member of the Christ Gospel Fellowship Church (CGFCR), said he was burdened by the sight of crippled children born during Covid-19, who became teachers of the Word of God, and became teachers of hunger and hair for 6 months and vocational training, and are now ministers of the church in the Church.

Mrs. Chantal said the children were not the same as those born in Covid-19, where everyone with a child had come to school with 2 week old children who had difficulty learning, endured until graduation, and were given a certificate today.

Chantal says that more than 100 girls and women who have been abused by the Word of God have been transformed, taught to sew, knit hair, hunger, make money, etc., have been taught in 4 stages, and are now living a normal life values.

The graduation ceremony was attended by other ministers including Maria Kamanzi, Executive Secretary of the Peace Plan, Andrew Mukinisha, Chairperson of the Christian Life Assembly, CGFCR Vice President Rugazura Etienne.

Evangelist Samson Muriri and local leaders who attended the ceremony, thanked those from the bad habits and values, and thanked Mrs. Chantal for her call to take care of disadvantaged girls and women for development.

1,338 teenagers in Kigali City became pregnant in the same year in 2021, according to a statement from the General Assembly of the National Council of Women at the City of Kigali.

Comforter Aurore, the Coordinator of the National Council of Women, said a campaign was needed to educate people about the seriousness of the issue, so that it could be resolved.

Umutoni Gatsinzi Nadine, Deputy Mayor of Kigali for Social Affairs and Economic Development, called on the residents of the city to provide information that could lead to the arrest and prosecution of child abusers.

"What we want the whole community to do is to recognize that child abuse is a serious and minor offense, so they should be aware that it is a crime that should be stopped by all of us who are involved in providing information to all, avoiding concealment of those who do not value the Rwandan society.
