EUROPE: Bayer Leverkusen top Bundesliga after 4 1 win over Hoffenheim

Bayer Leverkusen became the new leaders in the German football league, Bundesliga, after Sunday's 4-1 win over Hoffenheim.

Leverkusen won seven of their last eight league matches to top the Bundesliga with 25 points.

The latest champions, Bayern Munich previously led the league but the Bavarian club drew with Union Berlin 1-1.

Second-place Bayern Munich have 24 points in 11 weeks.

RB Leipzig beat Werder Bremen 2-0 to pursue Bayern Munich. Leipzig also have 24

points.

One of the biggest clubs in Germany, Borussia Dortmund had a shocking 5-1 loss at home against Stuttgart.

Dortmund have 19 points to be in the fifth place.

Wolfsburg bagged 21 to come in fourth as they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 on Friday.

Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday drew with Crystal Palace 1-1, but the London club is

still leading the English Premier League.


The Spurs have 25 points in 12 matches to lead the division.

The defending English champions, Liverpool also drew with Fulham 1-1. Second-place Liverpool have 25 points as well.

Meanwhile, Leicester City won against Brighton 3-0 to follow Liverpool as the Foxes

bagged 24 points in 12 weeks.

Southampton beat Sheffield United 3-0 to sit in the fourth spot. They racked up 23

points.

Saturday's derby between Manchester United and Manchester City ended 0-0.

La Liga

Real Madrid toppled Atletico Madrid 2-0 in last weekend's derby to end their city

rivals' seven game winning streak. 


Real Sociedad had a 1-1 draw with Eibar but they are leading the Spanish La Liga by

goal average having 26 points.

Villarreal drew with Real Betis 1-1 and Barcelona beat Levante 1-0 at home.

Atletico Madrid are currently in the second place with 26 points but they have two matches remaining.

Third-place Real Madrid have 23 points in 12 matches. Meanwhile Villarreal bagged 22 points to chase Real Madrid in standings.


Serie A

Italian Serie A leaders AC Milan kept their current position in the standings despite Sunday's 2-2 draw against Parma.

Parma led the match 2-0 in San Siro but Milan fought hard to have the 2-2 draw.

The only unbeaten club in the 2020-21 Serie A season, Milan racked up 27 points in 11 weeks.

Meanwhile, Inter Milan won against Cagliari 3-1. Inter were three points behind archrivals Milan.


Third-place Napoli won against Sampdoria 2-1 to have 23 points.

The latest champions Juventus beat Genoa 3-1.

Napoli and Juventus have same points in the league.

Sassuolo defeated Benevento 1-0 to be in the fifth position with 22 points.


Ligue 1

Olympique Lyon beat defending French champions Paris Saint Germain (PSG) 1-0 in Sunday's French Ligue 1 match played in Paris.

Lille became new leaders after 2-1 win against Bordeaux at home. Both Lille and Lyon

had 29 points as of week 14.

Third-place PSG have bagged 28 points so far.

Olympique Marseille toppled Monaco 2-1 at home on weekend.

Marseille came in fourth with 27 points. But they have two more matches to play.
